We all have that dusty old photo of our parents.Yeah… the one with which they boast about their glorious childhood memories with a smile never seen before. My father used to take those photos to the studios for refurbishment and pay them whatever they ask for. Once I asked him” papa, you used to bargain for everything we buy, but why are you not doing the same here?” .He replied with a smile “these photos are priceless, my boy…”. While his mind was wandering through the past, my eyes were glaring with a sudden idea –what if I learn Photoshop and do this refurbishing myself!
That was when I seriously thought about learning photoshop. Many of you guys would have gone through similar situations and found that it’s not a cakewalk. It requires creativity, software experience and a firm hold on the shortcuts in photoshop(which is totally different from other software).
But Google has brought an end to the scenario by introducing their latest app photoscan!.It’s currently available on android and ios. Photoscan lets you turn your old prints into digital photos, and save them to the cloud with a single tap.
PhotoScan’s interface is admirably simple and doesn’t even require a login. The app opens to the camera and instructs you to position a photo within the frame. When you do, four dots appear over your photo. To scan it, you move your phone over each of the dots and hold it until the circle is filled in. Once you’ve covered all four dots, the photo is scanned — and you can immediately slide the next photo under your phone and repeat the process.
Photos are automatically cropped, rotated, and colour corrected. You can save them to Google Photos with one tap — and then, when you want to find them, you can just search for “scans” inside Google Photos and they’ll all come up. (You can also save them to your camera roll or share them to other apps.)
With this app from Google, I am sure that those dusty old photos would look better than ever.
